Devonte Smith to face replacement Khama Worthy at UFC 241

Make it opponent No. 3 for Devonte Smith.

Officials announced Tuesday that Smith (10-1) will fight short-notice replacement Khama Worthy (14-6) at UFC 241 on Saturday at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. Worthy is stepping in for a returning Clay Collard (removed due to health issues, per the UFC), who was himself stepping in for an injured John Makdessi.

Smith now has the chance to continue his hot start in the UFC. After winning a contract on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, Smith has recorded back-to-back first-round knockouts over Dong Hyun Ma and Julian Erosa in his first two Octagon appearances.

Worthy has won five straight fights and most recently defeated Adam Ward at a 247 Fighting Championships show in Pennsylvania this past July, capturing that promotion’s lightweight title.
