The Dominick Reyes redemption tour came to a screeching halt at UFC Perth.
Reyes entered the UFC Fight Night 260 headliner on a three-fight winning streak, but he appeared reluctant to pull the trigger before falling to Carlos Ulberg via knockout at the 4:27 mark of Round 1 at RAC Arena in Perth, Australia on Saturday night. “The Devastator” kept his reaction brief in a post-fight statement on social media.

“Congratulations to Carlos, just wasn’t my night,” Reyes wrote on Instagram. “God is good always.”
Reyes Has Endured Roller Coaster UFC Tenure
Reyes began his UFC tenure in 2017 and quickly rose to prominence on the back of a six-bout winning streak that included victories against the likes of Chris Weidman, Volkan Oezdemir, Ovince St. Preux and Jared Cannonier. That earned the Californian a title shot at UFC 247, where he pushed Jon Jones to the brink of defeat in a controversial decision loss in February 2020.
Reyes went through a rough patch after falling to “Bones,” as he suffered successive knockout losses to Jan Blachowicz, Jiri Prochazka and Ryan Spann — the last of which occurred in November 2022. The 35-year-old didn’t return to action until 2024, but his resurgence, which included stoppages of Dustin Jacoby, Anthony Smith and Nikita Krylov, had been one of the feel-good stories in the sport prior to his loss to Ulberg.
