Ex-UFC Champ Jiri Prochazka Celebrates Graduation

Jiri Prochazka is done with his graduation and ready to get back to fighting.

Prochazka took a hiatus from fighting earlier this year to go back to his university studies. The former UFC light heavyweight champion has now earned his Master’s degree in Security and Strategic Studies from Masaryk University’s School of Special & Sports Education of Security Bodies.

Prochazka celebrated the milestone in a post on Instagram.

“Mission accomplished,” he wrote. “Step-by-step walk the thousand-mile road. Now we can start [to] negotiate about [the] next move.”

Prochazka was also seen celebrating his accomplishment with a group of friends at a karaoke bar.

Known for being a personification of the bushido code, Prochazka has a unique personality. However, the achievement didn’t come without a big sacrifice from Prochazka. Newly-crowned champ Magomed Ankalaev was looking to defend his light heavyweight title at UFC 317, which goes down on Saturday in Las Vegas. When former champ Alex Pereira said he was unavailable for a rematch, the UFC reportedly approached Prochazka. However, “BJP” allegedly chose his university exams over a title shot.
