Makhmud Muradov, who is represented by boxing star Floyd Mayweather as part of “The Money Team,” has signed with the UFC.
The 29-year-old will make the walk to the Octagon on Sept. 28 when he faces Alessio Di Chirico at UFC Fight Night 160. Muradov will step in for Peter Sobotta, who had to pull out of fight with an injury. UFC Fight Night 160 goes down from Copenhagen, Denmark and will be headlined by a middleweight bout between Jack Hermansson and Jared Cannonier.
Muradov is 22-6 as a pro and riding a 11-fight winning streak while fighting in promotions like XFN and Oktagon MMA, among others. Out of his 22 wins, 15 have come by knockout while three have come by submission. Mayweather recently posted a video on Twitter calling Muradov the best fighter in the world.
Di Chirico, meanwhile, is coming off of a decision loss to Kevin Holland at UFC Fight Night 154. Before that, he beat Julian Marquez by split-decision and knocked out Oluwale Bamgbose. The Italian is 3-3 inside the Octagon.
