Former Boxing Heavyweight Champ Tyson Fury Set for Comeback Fight on Netflix

Tyson Fury’s latest comeback has a date and opponent.

Netflix announced on Wednesday that the former heavyweight boxing champion will square off against Arslanbek Makhmudov in a bout aired via the streaming platform on April 11 in the U.K. A date and venue were not confirmed.

Tyson’s career has been filled with a number of retirements and comebacks. The latest occurred after “The Gypsy King” announced his return at the beginning of the year. He called it a career in January 2025 following a second consecutive loss to Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury owns a 34-2-1 career mark in the Sweet Science with victories over the likes of Deontay Wilder, Wladimir Klitschko, Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora, among others. Fury has been liked to a fight with fellow Brit and former world champion Anthony Joshua, according to multiple reports. However, Joshua was recently injured in a car crash in Nigeria, so it is unclear when he might be ready to return to action.

The 36-year-old Makhmudov has compiled a 21-2 career mark and is coming off a unanimous decision triumpn against David Allen this past October. According to BoxRec.com, Makhmudov was dedected one point in both the seventh and 12th rounds for “repeated holding.” Both of Makhmudov’s losses have come via stoppage within the past three years.

Netflix has streamed a number of high-profile boxing events in recent years, including a controversial booking between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson that drew massive ratings despite widespread criticism. The streaming platform also broadcast Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford ; Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3 and Jake Paul vs. Joshua.
