Iaquinta last appeared at UFC 222, where he had a five-bout winning streak snapped in a title fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov. He was scheduled to headline UFC Fight Night 135 against Justin Gaethje in August but withdrew from the bout for undisclosed reasons.
Diaz, meanwhile, still hasn’t competed since dropping a majority decision in a rematch against Conor McGregor at UFC 202 in August 2016. He was briefly linked to a matchup with Georges St. Pierre at UFC 227 before both parties shot down that idea.
