Grant Dawson vs. Joe Solecki in the Works for UFC 302 on June 1

A lightweight clash between Grant Dawson and Joe Solecki has been targeted for UFC 302.

Dawson confirmed the pairing following an initial report from MMAFighting.com. UFC 302 takes place on June 1 and is expected to be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. A headliner for the event has not been announced.

After going unbeaten in his first 10 Octagon appearances, Dawson suffered a 33-second knockout loss in his last outing at UFC Fight Night 229 this past October. The American Top Team product owns victories over the likes of Damir Ismagulov, Mark O. Madsen, Jared Gordon and Leonardo Santos during his promotional tenure.

Solecki, meanwhile, is 5-2 in UFC competition since appearing on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2019. Most recently, Solecki suffered a first-round knockout loss against Drakkar Klose at UFC on ESPN 52 on Dec. 2.
