Dvalishvili looked to defend his bantamweight title for the third time against Cory Sandhagen in the co-main event at UFC 320 on Saturday. Dvalishvili landed 20 takedowns, the most ever in a UFC title fight, to defend his title via unanimous decision. Topuria congratulated his friend and fellow Georgian, Dvalishvili, on the win. While Dvalishvili’s victories seem almost inevitable to Topuria at this point, “El Matador” also acknowledged the grind that goes behind it. The Georgian-Spaniard also praised Dvalishvili as a human being apart from his performances in the Octagon. Topuria finally vowed to support “The Machine” every step of the way.

Topuria Calls Dvalishvili ‘A Living Legend
“Brother, we’ve reached the point where your victories seem almost normal,” Topuria wrote on social media. “But we all know how hard it is to get there. I say it with pride: you’re a living legend!!!! An example of hard work, sacrifice, and heart. Beyond the fighter, you’re an incredible person, with a soul too big for your chest. We love you, we support you, and we’re with you every step of the way.

Dvalishvili is riding the longest win streak in UFC bantamweight history, with the win over Sandhagen marking his 13th straight victory at 135 pounds — and 14th in a row overall. Dvalishvili won the title against Sean O’Malley last year and defended it against Umar Nurmagomedov and in a rematch against O’Malley before defeating Sandhagen.
Meanwhile, the undefeated Topuria has finished 15 of his 17 career wins. Topuria won the featherweight title against Alexander Volkanovski and defended it against Max Holloway before moving up to lightweight, where he beat Charles Oliveira this past June to clinch the vacant title.
