Jennifer Maia to Defend Flyweight Title vs. Agnieszka Niedzwiedz in Invicta FC 26 Main Event

Jennifer Maia will defend her flyweight crown against Agnieszka Niedzwiedz in the Invicta FC 26 headliner on Dec. 8.

The all-female promotion announced the bout on Wednesday. Invicta FC 26 takes place at the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Mo., and also includes a strawweight clash between Mizuki Inoue and Janaisa Morandin as well as a flyweight tilt pitting Vanessa Porto against Jessica Rose-Clark. The card will stream in its entirety on UFC Fight Pass beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Maia captured 125-pound gold with a five-round verdict over Vanessa Porto at Invicta FC 16 in March 2016. The 29-year-old Brazilian defended the belt in a split-decision triumph against Roxanne Modafferi on Sept. 23. Maia is 14-4-1 as a professional, with eight victories coming via knockout, technical knockout or submission.

Niedzweidz, meanwhile, is coming off a decision win against Porto at Invicta FC 23 this past May. The 22-year-old Pole is 10-0 over the course of a professional tenure that includes two appearances in Cage Warriors Fighting Championship.
