The next UFC flyweight title fight is seemingly in the pipeline.

Joshua Van has verbally agreed to put his flyweight title on the line against Kape early next year. Kape called for a title shot against Van after his victory over Brandon Royval last weekend. Van accepted the callout, suggesting a booking in his hometown of Houston, Texas.

“Houston, [Texas] [Manel Kape] Let’s run it!” Van wrote. “Talk is cheap.”

Kape responded, vowing to put Van to sleep: “Sign the contract, little boy. I’ve got something that’ll make you sleep real good.”

The UFC flyweight title picture has changed drastically over the past two weeks. Van (16-2) was a heavy underdog while challenging Alexandre Pantoja for the title at UFC 323 earlier this month. However, Van won the title in less than half a minute after Pantoja unfortunately dislocated his elbow while trying to balance himself.

Meanwhile, Kape (22-7) took on former champ Royval last weekend in the last UFC card of the ESPN era. “Starboy” knocked out Royval in the opening round to earn a “Performance of the Night “bonus.
