Juan Adams got the fight he’s been seeking.
The 27-year-old has been asking to fight Greg Hardy since the former NFL Pro Bowler made his way into MMA and at UFC San Antonio, he gets that chance.
“It is a huge opportunity. I am very happy, honestly,” Adams said to Sherdog.com. “For the longest time, I was feeling unwanted because I was waiting so long for fights. To have such a short turnaround this time for someone I have been asking for and lobbying to fight feels great. I’m really happy as it but me in a good mood.”
Although he got the fight vs. Hardy, he isn’t sure why. He believes he is too much for Hardy and is not one of the “bums,” as “The Kraken” puts it, who Hardy has faced in the past.
“I do think my wrestling will be a huge factor and my power will be a factor. He has never been hit by someone like me or the volume I throw,” Adams explained.
Adams is confident in his skills and that he will be able to beat Hardy. He knows he is not scared to bring the fight to Hardy, unlike the former NFL star’s last opponents.
“Yeah his power is overhyped. And, I think he has fought people that are afraid of him. It is not hard to knock out a 40-year-old amateur. You look at his two Contender Series, the only legitimate knockout he had was against Austen Lane. What else does he have? Nothing,” Adams concluded.
