A women’s bantamweight bout with title implications will go down this spring.
Norma Dumont will square off against fellow contender Yana Santos at a UFC event on April 25. Multiple outlets confirmed the 135-pound booking following an initial report from Ag.Fight. The card doesn’t yet have a location or main event. While the Dumont-Santos winner should be a top contender for the women’s 135-pound belt, they will likely have to wait until Kayla Harrison vs. Amanda Nunes is rebooked at a later date. Harrison withdrew from a UFC 324 title defense against the returning Nunes to undergo neck surgery; no timetable has been set for the reigning champ’s return.
Brazil vs. Russia
Dumont is in the midst of a six-bout promotional winning streak. The 35-year-old Brazilian competed once in 2025, earning a split-decision triumph against Ketlen Vieira at UFC Fight Night 263 this past November. Dumont, who previously fought at featherweight before the UFC dissolved the division, owns other notable victories over the likes of Irene Aldana, Germaine de Randamie and Karol Rosa.
After suffering a three-bout skid from 2021 to 2023, Santos has righted the ship with successive wins against Chelsea Chandler, Miesha Tate and Macy Chiasson. A former Invicta FC champ, Santos challenged for featherweight gold in her Octagon debut falling to Cristiane Justino via first-round TKO at UFC 222 in March 2018.
