Nurmagomedov is currently helping Islam Makhachev prepare for his upcoming welterweight title challenge against Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 322 on Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York. Nurmagomedov was coaching when he had an argument with Frankie Edgar over the angle of an exercise.

Nurmagomedov wanted the fighters to do a wall sit hold at 45 degrees. However, the angle Nurmagomedov was indicating with his fingers was not 45 degrees. When Edgar Said Nurmagomedov was showing 90 degrees, “The Eagle” demanded some respect to his name.
Nurmagomedov said in humor: “Frankie Edgar, have some respect. Hey, not only you former lightweight champion, me too. Have some respect.”
Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz reminded him that Edgar is a UFC Hall of Famer as well.
Nurmagomedov countered: “I’m Hall of Fame too. I’m the youngest Hall of Fame in UFC history, not like everybody else. When I was 32, I was in Hall of Fame.”
Edgar stood his ground, saying: “Hey, listen, 34-32, this is still 90 degree bro.”
‘Welcome to My World’
Nurmagomedov then asked for the opinions of cousin Usman Nurmagomedov and head coach Javier Mendez. None dared disagree with Nurmagomedov. When the former UFC lightweight champ asked the rest of the team, they nodded along as well. Nurmagomedov then increased the exercise time by another minute, blaming it on Edgar.
“Welcome to my world, brother. Because of Frankie Edgar, one more minute,” Nurmagomedov said.
