Rountree takes on former light heavyweight champ Jiri Prochazka at UFC 320 on Oct. 4 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Prochazka is known for his unorthodox striking, especially his spinning attacks and elbows. Rountree is training with muay thai legend Jonathan Haggerty to prepare for Prochazka.

Rountree, Prochazka Both Come Up Short in Recent Title Bouts
Rountree went on a five-fight winning streak with four finishes to earn a surprise title shot against Alex Pereira last year. Despite a gritty display of heart, Rountree was stopped by “Poatan” in the fourth stanza at UFC 307. Rountree has since rebounded with a unanimous decision win over former champ Jamahal Hill.
Meanwhile, Prochazka dethroned Glover Texeira via submission to win the light heavyweight title in 2022. However, the Czech was forced to vacate his title as he was renedered inactive due to an injury. Prochazka suffered a stoppage loss in a fight for the vacant title against Pereira in 2023. While he rebounded with a win over Aleksandar Rakic, Prochazka was stopped by Pereira again in their rematch last year. “BJP” has since rebounded with a finish over Jamahal Hill earlier this year. When reigning champ Magomedov Ankalaev was looking to defend his title this past July, Prochazka reportedly passed on a title shot offer to prepare for his university exams.
