Chimaev (15-1) fell short in his Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight title defense against Sean Strickland this past May. While “Borz” was a massive favorite, he evidently fatigued as early as the second round. Despite showing some grit in the later rounds, Strickland outlanded him on the feet to earn a massive upset win.

Chimaev is eager to return to the Octagon and called out four top 185-pounders by name, including the champ, drawing a response from one contender.

Chimaev has been rallying for a title rematch against Strickland for months, but is now open to other matchups. He recently revealed a hit list for his next fight. Apart from a rematch against Strickland, Chimaev is considering Nassourdine Imavov, former foe Dricus Du Plessis and Caio Borralho.
“I’m ready. Let me know when you are ready Sean, Dricus, Nassourdine, Caio,” Chimaev wrote on X.
Borralho immediately responded to Chimaev, calling for a booking against the Chechen at Madison Square Garden in New York City in November or T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in December.
“Finally someone called my name!” Borralho responded. “My brother u know I love you, and I’m ready MSG November or T Mobile December! Just let me know.”
Imavov is largely considered the most deserving contender, but has already lost to Strickland before the latter claimed UFC gold. Meanwhile, du Plessis has two wins over Strickland and is coming off a dominant victory over Kamaru Usman, but was thoroughly outclassed by Chimaev when they fought last year.
Borralho is 8-1 in the UFC since winning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series. His lone loss in the promotion came against Imavov.
