Mike Perry breaks silence following shocking upset loss to Brandon Jenkins

Mike Perry has addressed his recent loss at Duel Arena 1.

Perry was originally scheduled to fight Dillon Danis at Kia Center in Orlando, Florida. However, Danis pulled out two days before fight night for undisclosed reasons. Half of Perry’s purse was cut due to Danis pulling out and a relatively unknown Brandon Jenkins stepped up on short notice to fight the former Ultimate Fighting Championship athlete.

Perry was a massive favorite going into his fight against Jenkins. However, “Platinum” dislocated his left shoulder before being stopped by Jenkins in the first round. He recently issued a statement addressing his massive upset loss.

Perry says that while training keeps the body and mind strong, strength also needs to be applied to other aspects of life. He plans to focus more on recovery and stretching going forward.

“Health is wealth,” Perry wrote on X. “The MMA lifestyle taking care of the body, mind and spirit. The gym helps the process of growing your strength, but strength is needed in other areas of life and should be exercised everywhere we go. Organize, be consistent, more recovery and stretching. Taking knowledge into my future endeavors. More to work for, more work to do.”

Perry (15-9) has become the face of bare-knuckle boxing since parting ways with the UFC in 2021. His loss to Jenkins marked his second defeat since then, after a boxing loss to Jake Paul in 2024.
