Khamzat Chimaev has his eyes set on an opponent for his first title defense.
Chimaev recently called out Nassourdine Imavov for a fight after Ramadan 2026. Chimaev also advised the Frenchman to use the time to develop his wrestling.
Looking Ahead
“See you after Ramadan [Imavov],” Chimaev wrote on X. “You have time work on your wrestling Bratishka.”
Most Muslim fighters don’t fight during or immediately after the month of Ramadan as they observe fasting. If the fight between Chimaev and Imavov comes to fruition, it’ll likely be in the summer, as Ramadan ends on March 19, 2026.
Chimaev (15-0) has finished six of his nine UFC wins so far. “Borz” looked flawless in his dominant title win over Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 319 this past August. Meanwhile, Imavov (17-4) is riding a five-fight winning streak against elite competition in Roman Dolidze, Jared Cannonier, Brendan Allen, Israel Adesanya and Caio Borralho.
