Grappling specialist Kron Gracie is set to return to active mixed martial arts competition for the first time in a year.
The 37-year-old Brazilian will face Thomas Picciano for featherweight gold in the main event of Victory Fighting League “The Road to Redemption” on Dec. 12 in New York. The promotion announced the pairing via social media over the weekend.
Decorated Grappler Competed on UFC’s ESPN Debut
Gracie hasn’t competed since December 2024, when he suffered a slam KO defeat to Bryce Mitchell at UFC 310. That was his third consecutive defeat within the Las Vegas-based promotion, and Gracie parted ways with the UFC when his contract was not renewed. The son of Rickson Gracie is a from IBJFF world champion and an ADCC gold medalist. He began his MMA career with five consecutive triumphs, including a first-round submission of Alex Caceres in his Octagon debut at UFC on ESPN 1.
Picciano owns a 7-3 professional mark with seven appearances under the Cage Fury Fighting Championships banner. He is coming off a first-round finish of Jay Pressley under the Victory Fighting League banner on Aug. 15.
