The former UFC lightweight title challenger will face ex-featherweight contender Chad Mendes in a wrestling match at Real American Freestyle 3 on Nov. 29 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. The organization announced the match via social media on Monday. RAF03 will also include a match between former Bellator MMA title holder Darrion Caldwell and high school wrestling star Bo Bassett.

Former All Americans to Meet at RAF03
Chandler wrestled at the University of Missouri, where he earned All-American honors as a senior. He has been fighting professionally in MMA since 2009, winning lightweight gold in Bellator and challenging for the UFC 155-pound strap along the way. “Iron” has lost five of his last six Octagon appearances and is coming off a third-round TKO defeat to Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314.
Mendes, meanwhile, competed on the mats for California Polytechnic State University, where he was a two-time NCAA All American. “Money” fought for the featherweight title three times in the UFC before ending his MMA career in 2018. More recently, the longtime Team Alpha Male standout has competed in BKFC and in grappling.
RAF was launched earlier this year by the late Hulk Hogan, former World Championship Wrestling senior vice president Eric Bischoff and wrestling coach Izzy Martinez. RAF has a mission to “professionalize competitive wrestling and create a platform for elite athletes to compete in front of millions of fans.” RAF’s early events have seen participation from MMA notables such as Bo Nickal, Holly Holm and Alexander Romanov.
