A lightweight clash pitting Lando Vannata against Marc Diakiese has been added to the UFC Copenhagen bill.
Sherdog.com confirmed the booking with a source close to the situation following initial reports from MMAjunkie.com and Newsome MMA. UFC Fight Night 160 takes place at Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Sept. 28 and is headlined by a middleweight showdown between Jack Hermansson and Jared Cannonier. The card will stream on ESPN+.
Vannata, who is probably best known for his entertaining short-notice Octagon debut against Tony Ferguson, earned his first win since December 2016 at UFC 234, where he submitted Marcos Mariano with a kimura in the opening stanza. The Jackson’s MMA Acoma representative is 2-3-2 during is UFC tenure and 10-3-2 as a professional overall.
Diakiese halted a three-fight skid at UFC London, where he outpointed Joseph Duffy on March 16. “Bonecrusher” began his promotional tenure with three consecutive wins — two by KO/TKO — before the aforementioned slump. The 26-year-old Englishman is 13-3 over the course of his professional tenure.
