Lightweight Champion Salahdine Parnasse Brutalizes Marcin Held in KSW 114 Headliner

No one’s star in the Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki sky shines any brighter than that of Salahdine Parnasse.

The Atch Academy ace disposed of Marcin Held with punches top retain his lightweight championship in the second round of their KSW 114 headliner on Saturday at RCS Hall in Radom, Poland. Held (31-11, 3-2 KSW) succumbed to blows 3:35 into Round 2, suffering his first setback in more than two years.

Parnasse (22-2, 14-2 KSW) was in command for virtually every second of the bout. He dipped into his deep bag of tricks—the Frenchman even connected with a jumping head kick in the first round—and toyed with Held on the feet and on the ground. Parnasse eventually pinned the Polish grappler to the fence and unleashed a volley of punishing hooks to the body from both hands in the second round. Held collapsed at his feet, where he absorbed a few more punches before referee Aleh Miliakou elected to intervene on his behalf.

Meanwhile, Arkadiusz Wrzosek rebounded from his June 14 submission loss to longstanding KSW champion Phil De Fries and did so in resounding fashion, as he short-circuited Szymon Bajor with a perfectly timed knee strike in the second round of their heavyweight co-main event. Bajor (26-13, 4-5 KSW) faceplanted 40 seconds into Round 2.

Wrzosek (7-1, 7-1 KSW) maximized his height and reach advantages with a persistent jab and damaging low kicks. Bajor attempted to answer with attempted takedowns and repeated clinches but enjoyed only limited success. Early in the middle stanza, Wrzosek caught the Universal Rzeszow rep with a crushing knee as he plowed forward. Bajor crashed and burned where he stood. No follow-up shots were required.

The 6-foot-7 Wrzosek has recorded six of his seven victories via knockout.

Finally, surging Polish prospect Wiktoria Czyzewska put away former Samurai Fight House champion Tamires Vidal with a body kick and follow-up punches in the first round of their women’s bantamweight showcase. Vidal (7-5, 0-1 KSW) clocked out 4:30 into Round 1.

Czyzewska (6-1, 5-1 KSW) operated behind a potent jab, front-leg front kicks to the body and sharp one-twos. She had Vidal reeling with a multi-punch volley, backed it up with a head kick and then hammered the Brazilian with a series of knees from the collar tie. Czyzewska reset and delivered a crippling kick to the right side of her opponent’s ribcage. Vidal winced in pain and retreated to the fence, where she was met with a few more punches before the stoppage was called.

The 21-year-old Czyzewska has rattled off five consecutive victories.

In other action, an accidental eye poke from Ibragim Chuzhigaev (19-6, 3-1 KSW) rendered Maciej Rozanski (15-6, 1-1 KSW) unable to continue in the second round of their 212-pound catchweight encounter; Piotr Kacprzak (13-6, 4-2 KSW) eked out a majority decision—28-28, 29-28, 29-28)—against Wojciech Kazieczko (6-3, 4-3 KSW) in their three-round featherweight battle; Andi Vrtacic (8-3, 3-1 KSW) cut down Mateusz Gola (6-7, 0-1 KSW) with a head kick 2:37 into the second round of their middleweight pairing; Amaury Wako-Zabo (5-0, 3-0 KSW) cruised to a unanimous decision—30-27, 30-27, 30-27—over Viktor Cervinsky (5-3, 1-3 UFC) in their three-round welterweight tilt; Konrad Rusinksi (7-3, 2-2 KSW) outpointed Henry Fadipe (15-13-1, 3-4 KSW) to a unanimous verdict in their three-round middleweight affair, as he earned 29-28, 30-26 and 30-27 marks from the judges; and Iras Khizriev (5-0, 1-0 KSW) took a unanimous decision—29-28, 30-27, 29-28—from Oleksandr Moisa (4-2, 1-1 KSW) in their three-round lightweight clash.
