Luis Pena to fight Matt Wiman at UFC Greenville

Luis Pena is returning to lightweight. And Matt Wiman is returning to the Octagon for the first time in over four years.

The two are set to meet in a 155-pound contest at UFC Greenville at Bon Secours Wellness Arena on June 22, according to a report from Greenville Online.

In Pena’s last outing, the 6-foot-3 fighter attempted to make a move down to featherweight, but he came in heavy by 2.5 pounds for his bout with Steven Peterson at UFC Nashville. He would go on to defeat Peterson by unanimous decision to improve his pro record to 6-1.

Wiman (16-7) will be fighting for the first time since Nov. 22, 2014. He defeated Isaac Vallie-Flagg by unanimous decision at a Fight Night card in Austin, then saw his lone appearance of 2015 canceled due to a back injury. The 35-year-old has not had a fight booked since.

A cast member of The Ultimate Fighter 5, Wiman is 10-5 in his UFC career with notable wins over Cole Miller, Thiago Tavares, and Michihiro Omigawa.

UFC Greenville will be headlined by a featherweight bout between Renato Moicano and “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung. The main card will air live on the ESPN+ streaming service.
