The organization released the news on Thursday that Marlon Vera (23-10-1) vs. Aiemann Zahabi (13-2) would be taking place on the lineup of UFC Vancouver. The 135ers are not expected to serve in its main attraction, which still has yet to be announced. However, as a pairing between the UFC’s top-10 bantamweights, they are expected to compete on its main card.

This battle on Oct. 18 in the Rogers Arena will be Vera’s first walk to the cage since an August 2024 loss to Deiveson Figueiredo. The former title challenger has fallen on tough times of late, winning only one of his last four appearances. While his decision win over Pedro Munhoz in 2023 was enough to grant him a title shot against champ Sean O’Malley, fans and pundits argued Vera received that boon because he already stopped O’Malley in the past. “Chito” will be attempting to break out of his second career losing streak, having never dropped three in a row.
Now or Never for the Tristar-Trained Canadian
While he will be turning 38 a month after facing Vera, Laval, Quebec, native Zahabi is on the biggest run of his UFC tenure. A knock for the Canadian has been his low activity level, but a second outing in 2025 would make this year only the second since 2017 where he fought twice in that calendar year. The brother of Tristar Gym chief Firas Zahabi will be entering into his 10th UFC bout since debuting with the promotion in early 2017, and he currently rides a six-fight win streak with recent triumphs over Munhoz and Jose Aldo—the latter a contentious call where most scoring media awarded the win to Aldo.
No headliner has been announced for UFC Vancouver, also known as UFC Fight Night 262, for Oct. 18 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Other key pairings currently booked for the billing include a flyweight clash as Manon Fiorot takes on Jasmine Jasudavicius, and a men’s flyweight contest when Hyun Sung Park makes a quick turnaround against Bruno Silva.
