The upcoming July 15 UFC Fight Night event at The Apex in Las Vegas has a new headliner.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship women’s 135-pound queen Holly Holm and Mayra Bueno Silva will collide this summer, with Holm replacing Miesha Tate after she suffered a hand injury. The news was first reported by The MMA Hour on Wednesday and then confirmed by multiple outlets.
Holm (15-6, 8-6 UFC) is looking to add another victory to her legacy. “The Preacher’s Daughter” is coming off a unanimous-decision win over Yana Santos at UFC on ESPN 43, where the boxing hall of famer bounced back from a narrow split-decision loss to Ketlen Vieira in May 2022. Prior, the Jackson-Wink MMA representative defeated Irene Aldana and Raquel Pennington.
Bueno Silva (10-2-1, 5-2-1 UFC), a Dana White’s Contender Series graduate, is currently riding a three-bout winning streak after overcoming Yanan Wu, Stephanie Egger and Lina Lansberg.
