Dvalishvili (21-4) will put his bantamweight title on the line against Petr Yan (19-5) in the UFC 323 main event on Dec. 6 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. “The Machine” successfully defended his crown against Cory Sandhagen at UFC 320 earlier this month. Dvalishvili landed 20 takedowns, the most ever in a UFC title fight, to earn a unanimous decision. The win over Sandhagen marked Dvalishvili’s third title defense this year.
The Georgian had subsequently announced plans to defend his belt again this year to record the most title defenses within a year in UFC history.
Yan dropped a lopsided unanimous decision against Dvalishvili in 2023, which was his third loss in a row. “No Mercy” claimed he wasn’t in his best shape in his first encounter against Dvalishvili. The former champ has since seemingly found the proverbial second wind in his career, running through Yadong Song, Dieveson Figueiredo and Marcus McGhee.
Flyweight champ Alexandre Pantoja will put his title on the line against Myanmar’s Joshua Van in the co-main event. Former two-division champ Henry Cejudo will also face an up-and-coming prospect Payton Talbott in a bantamweight tilt.
