Looking back on his first year as a pro, bantamweight Mitch Raposo couldn’t be happier with how things turned out.
In three bouts in 2019, Raposo was able to pick up three wins, and more importantly finish all three bouts within the first round, establishing himself as someone to watch at 135lbs.
“It was exactly what I wanted, what I’d be happy with,” Raposo told MMAWeekly.com. “3-0 with three finishes all within one minute, two minutes, which is kind of ideal for me.”
Raposo is also pleased with his development over the course of the year. In particular, Raposo feels he was able to mature a lot as a fighter and a person.
“When I stop thinking of what could happen (in a fight), and started thinking about what I brought to the table, that’s when everything kind of clicked,” said Raposo. “I go out there, I have fun, and I show up. That’s what my outlook is now when fighting, and it works for me.
“I’m getting more comfortable. In my training I feel like I’m pushing to new levels every single day. I’m the most focused I’ve ever been in my life. I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been. I’ve really matured in 2019, matured into the guy that (can compete for the) UFC.”
On Saturday in Plymouth, Mass., Raposo (3-0) will look to keep his undefeated streak going when he faces Cleveland McLean (11-8) in a main card 135-pound bout at Cage Titans 47.
