Despite considering himself to be the most deserving contender, Movsar Evloev is willing to go through another opponent for a title shot.
Evloev has long been in conversation for title contention, although the shot has evaded him thus far. Alexander Volkanovski acknowledged the Russian as the most deserving contender after winning the featherweight title for the second time this past April. However, Volkanovski also revealed that Lerone Murphy might skip ahead of Evloev for the shot after spoiling Aaron Pico’s UFC debut with a highlight-reel knockout last month.

Murphy recently declared himself the most deserving contender, shutting down former bantamweight champ Aljamain Sterling’s name from title conversations. But Evloev warned Murphy that the Englishman might have to go through him before he fights for the title.
“How is [Sterling’s] name even in the mix. I’m confused,” Murphy wrote. “Bro’s 2-2 in his last [four] fights. He was a good bantamweight but an average featherweight. ONLY [one] name makes sense and that is Lerone Murphy.”
“Hey man, you’re probably not gonna get this title shot and me and you will end up fighting,” Evloev replied. “I’m looking forward to it. But, if you do end up getting the title shot then good luck.”
Meanwhile, Diego Lopes, who came up short in a title fight against Volkanovski, is back in the picture with a finish over Jean Silva at Noche UFC last weekend. However, Evloev believes he is the only one who can dethrone Volkanovski. The undefeated Russian noted that he had emphatic wins over Lopes, Sterling and Arnold Allen. Regardless, Evloev is willing to go through any opponent the UFC offers to secure a featherweight title shot.

“I’m the only guy who can beat Volk right now, but if I have to fight Lerone or Diego then I have no problem doing it,” Evloev wrote.
“I beat Diego Lopes, Arnold Allen and Aljamain Sterling very easy. Nobody deserve anything and if any of them want to fight me again I have no problem.”
