On Friday, Brave Combat Federation broke the news on social media of the headliner for its 100th numbered event. Mokaev (15-0, 1 NC) will come to blows with Ireland’s Gerard Burns (7-1) for the inaugural Brave CF flyweight belt. The two will toe the line at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town, Bahrain, on Nov. 7. The only other match announced for the lineup is a 175-pound super welterweight contest pitting Mohammad Fakhreddine against Alex Lohore.

Since departing the UFC unfavorably in 2024, unbeaten Dagestani flyweight by way of Britain has rattled off a pair of victories. First making a splash in Brave in December by hitting a brabo choke in under two minutes on Joevincent So, Mokaev remained busy by testing the waters in the newly established Middle Eastern league 971 Fighting Championship. In the main attraction of the org’s second event, Mokaev outhustled Thomas Assis at 135 pounds across three rounds.
Two Men Enter, One Man Leaves
While Mokaev has competed once under the Brave umbrella, Burns has much more established as a Brave flyweight without a title to fight for. He introduced himself to the Brave brass at Brave CF 80 in late 2023, punching out Hussein Ayyad Abdulla in just over a minute. From there, he forced Danijel Spoljaric to tap to strikes four months later, and strung together a pair of decisions to further build his record. While Mokaev has never been defeated, Burns has yet to be finished as a pro.
