Muhammad Mokeav vs. Alex Perez confirmed as first fight at UFC Saudi Arabia card in March

Flyweights Muhammad Mokaev and Alex Perez will meet in the first confirmed fight for the UFC’s debut card headed to Saudi Arabia on March 2.

Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Wednesday after Perez’s management team at Iridium Sports Agency first posted the fight on social media.

Widely considered one of the fastest rising stars on the UFC roster, Mokaev will look to keep his undefeated record in tact when he returns in March. The 23-year-old Dagestani born fighter, who now fights out of England, has put together an impressive 5-0 run this far in his UFC career including a recent win over one-time title challenger Tim Elliott.

Now Mokaev will take on another title fight veteran in Perez, who will look to make his first appearance in the cage since July 2022.

Following a loss to future UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja, Perez dealt with fight cancellations and medical issues that prevented him from returning to action over the past year. Overall, he’s dropped two fights in a row, which includes his title fight loss to Deiveson Figueiredo back in 2020.

He’ll look to right the ship when he faces Mokaev in March as the flyweights join the first UFC Saudi Arabia card as part of the promotion’s growing expansion throughout the Middle East.
