Nassourdine Imavov might have been the biggest winner in the middleweight division based on what transpired at UFC Vancouver on Saturday night.

Reinier de Ridder entered the event with designs on making a statement in the middleweight title picture with an impressive victory over Brendan Allen, who stepped in on short notice as a replacement for the injured Anthony Hernandez. Instead, de Ridder faded badly, losing via technical knockout when his corner threw in the towel after four rounds.

Imavov, who felt that he had already solidified his position as the division’s No. 1 contender by defeating Caio Borralho at UFC Paris on Sept. 6, took a shot at “The Dutch Knight” on social media at the conclusion of the bout.

Imavov Looks to Be Clear No. 1 Contender

“Knew it,” Imavov wrote on X, ending the post with a laughing emoji.

Imavov appears to be the clear No. 1 contender at 185 pounds, with a five-bout winning streak that includes triumphs over the likes of Borralho, Israel Adesanya, Allen, Jared Cannonier and Roman Dolidze. With the UFC schedule mostly set for the remainder of 2025, “The Sniper” will likely set his sights on a date with reigning champion Khamzat Chimaev sometime in 2026.
