Usyk: ‘I Think It’s Interesting’

“I want a fight with Deontay Wilder,” Usyk told Boxing King Media. “For me I think it’s interesting. He’s a world champion guy, very famous guy, he’s a strong guy. He’s one of the greatest heavyweights in the last 10 years.”

Usyk (24-0) beat Tyson Fury and Daniel Dubois twice each in his last four outings. The Ukrainian most recently knocked out Dubois this past July at Wembley to become a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion. However, Usyk has since vacated his WBO belt instead of defending it against interim champion Fabio Wardley, who was promoted to undisputed champion.

Meanwhile, Wilder (44-4) has gone 2-2 since his trilogy loss to Tyson Fury in 2021. “The Bronze Bomber” is coming off a stoppage win over Tyrrell Anthony Herndon that saw him rebound from consecutive losses against Joseph Parker and Zheilei Zhang.
