Another of their teammates, Kyoji Horiguchi, submitted Tagir Ulanbekov at UFC Qatar last month. “Moicano” had advised bettors to cash in on Horiguchi as an underdog. “Moicano” even predicted that Horiguchi could dethrone Pantoja.

Speaking of “Moicano’s” comments, Pantoja praised his teammate’s mic skills. The flyweight champion notes that “Moicano” has capitalized on his likable personality to build an alternate career in streaming. However, Pantoja also believes that the fellow Brazilian has the skills to be a UFC champion someday.
Talent and Personality
“I think Renato can be a UFC champion,” Pantoja told Spinnin Backfist. “He has the levels, he has the skills… We couldn’t tell five years ago that Renato can be one of the best streamers. But he proved that. He has so much good personality. I think he is much better in the Octagon but what he did with the live and all that, he is very good.”
While “Money Moicano” made his UFC debut more than a decade ago, he has recently become a fan favorite. “Moicano” (20-7) was riding a four-fight winning streak until last year, which earned him a short-notice title fight against Islam Makhachev. However, “Moicano” went on to suffer a submission loss against Makhachev at UFC 311 earlier this year. The 36-year-old has since dropped a decision against Beneil Dariush this past June.
Meanwhile, Pantoja (30-5) will put his flyweight title on the line for the fifth time against Joshua Van (15-2) at UFC 323 this weekend in Las Vegas.
