Gable Steveson believes he can be an apt representative for the United States when the Ultimate Fighting Championship heads to the Washington, D.C.

The UFC will host a card at the White House on President Donald Trump’s birthday, June 16, 2026. Steveson (1-0) isn’t shutting down the idea of making his UFC debut at the White House. Steveson believes he can be a worthy face for the U.S., considering his Olympic gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the Tokyo Games in 2020.

“I think it’ll be a great thing to have an Olympic champion and USA wrestling’s finest [on the White House card],” Steveson told MMA Junkie. “There hasn’t been a [male] UFC Olympic champion in 20 years and somehow I captured that at 21 years-old. So you’re not far off for saying that Gable Steveson could be on the White House and represent USA and walk out with that flag and go through anybody who steps in front of him. So I do believe it.”

Steveson made his pro MMA debut this past September, where he knocked out Braden Peterson in the first round at LFA 217. Steveson will now face Billy Swanson under Dirty Boxing rules at DBX 4 on Oct. 30. The former two-time NCAA Division 1 champ suffered a loss to Oklahoma’s Wyatt Hendrickson at the NCAA finals earlier this this in one of the biggest upsets in NCAA history. Steveson has also unsuccessfully tried his luck at the WWE and the NFL’s Buffalo Bills.
