Paige VanZant vs. Amanda Ribas targeted for UFC Brasilia in March

The last bout of Paige VanZant’s current deal with the UFC will be against strawweight Amanda Ribas in Brasilia, Brazil, on March 14, multiple sources told MMA Fighting. Both fighters have agreed but contracts have yet to be signed.

VanZant (8-4) is coming off a second-round armbar victory over Rachael Ostovich, but was forced to undergo a pair of surgeries to fix a fractured arm earlier this year. “12 Gauge” was victorious in five of eight Octagon appearances since 2014, including wins over Felice Herrig and Bec Rawlings.

Ribas (8-1) last fought in October, handing Mackenzie Dern her first career loss with a decision at UFC Tampa. The Brazilian strawweight, who submitted Emily Whitmire in her promotional debut in June, has only lost once as a professional, a first-round knockout to fellow UFC fighter Polyana Viana.
