Paramount+ Subscription Price to Increase Entering UFC Broadcast Deal

Paramount+ subscribers can expect to pony up a little more cash as the streaming service enters its broadcast partnership with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

In a recent letter sent to investors, Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison announced plans to increase prices in the first quarter of 2026. The exact amount of the increase was not revealed. Currently, Paramount+ costs $7.99 per month for a plan with ads and $12.99 per month for an ad-free plan.

“Our ongoing investments in Paramount+ are enhancing the value we deliver to consumers,” Ellison wrote in the letter (via MMAFighting.com). “To support this continued investment, we plan to implement price increases in the U.S. early in the first quarter of 2026, and we recently announced upcoming price adjustments in Canada and Australia.

“These changes will fuel continued reinvestment in the user experience and deliver an even stronger slate of programming for our customers in the year ahead and beyond.”

Accessibility = Subscriber Growth

Perhaps the most noteworthy aspect of the seven year, $7.7 billion partnership between the UFC and Paramount is the elimination of the promotion’s pay-per-view model. Ellison indicated that removing the added cost for the UFC’s numbered events will help drive Paramount+ subscriptions.

“By removing the secondary pay-per-view paywall – historically a key barrier for UFC fans – we’re making these premium events available to every Paramount+ subscriber at no additional cost,” Ellison wrote. “We’re excited to deliver this exceptional value with the cost of an annual subscription to Paramount+ being less than just one UFC pay-per-view event under prior distribution.

“We’re confident that greater accessibility will lead to significant incremental subscriber growth and greater engagement across our platform, creating long-term value for both us and the UFC.”

The UFC’s debut on Paramount plus has not yet been announced. The promotion is currently in the final stages of its broadcast arrangement with ESPN, with four more events remaining — including two pay-per-views — in 2025.
