The Ultimate Fighting Championship has parted ways with three fighters, including a fan favorite in the heavyweight division.

The Las Vegas-based promotion recently released Chris Barnett, Kurt Holobaugh and Kiefer Crosbie, according to multiple reports. Sherdog’s Tom Feely was f first to bring word of Barnett’s release, while MMAFighting.com confirmed the news regarding Holobaugh and Crosbie. It is unclear if the aforementioned fighters were cut or their contracts simply expired.

UFC Releases All Endured Recent Struggles

Barnett gained some popularity for his rotund physique and dancing entrances during his Octagon tenure. However, “Huggy Bear” went 2-4 within the Las Vegas-based promotion and is coming off a lackluster decision defeat against Hamdy Abdelwahab at UFC 321.

Holobaugh, who won Season 31 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” went 2-7 over three separate UFC stints. The 39-year-old went 0-2 in 2025, dropping bouts against Alexander Hernandez and Jordan Leavitt.

A former Bellator talent, Crosbie did not taste victory in the Octagon, as he was finished by Kevin Jousset, Sam Patterson and Nueraji Taiyilake in three successive UFC outings.
