Paulo Costa, Roman Dolidze Debate Potential Fight Date on Social Media

Coming off a victory against Roman Kopylov, Paulo Costa appears to be close to finalizing his next fight.

His target is reportedly Roman Dolidze, who is coming off a loss to Anthony Hernandez. The Brazilian surprised everyone by challenging the Georgian in a post on social media.

“There’s a different energy in this drink, but everyone knows that. From the streets of Brazil to the global stage of the Octagon, I’ve been able to share my gifts with the world. Now, it’s time to return the favor, Roman Dolidze. See you in February,” Costa wrote.

Scheduling Conflicts

Dolidze accepted the challenge while also indicating the Brazilian turned down a fight against him at an earlier date.

“Come on! The most important thing is that you don’t quit or give up the fight,” the Georgian wrote.

“What are you talking about? Let’s fight in Houston?” answered Costa.

“My friend, I was just told that you declined an offer to fight me in Sydney,” Dolidze responded.

In a recent appearance on the Ag.Fight podcast “Direto de Vegas,” Borrachinha made it clear that he prefers to return to competition in the second half of February, which would likely be at a UFC Fight Night scheduled for Feb. 21 in Houston. Sydney will host UFC 325 on Jan. 31.
