PFL announces full 2021 Playoff 3 card, Brendan Loughnane vs. Movlid Khaybulaev headlines

PFL’s Season 3 playoffs continue Aug. 27 with an event headlined by featherweight standouts Brendan Loughnane and Movlid Khaybulaev.

The promotion on Tuesday announced the event’s full card, which takes place at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, N.J., and airs on ESPN 2 and ESPN+.

The fight card marks the final playoff event with featherweights and light heavyweights competing in the playoff semifinals. Winners from the Aug. 27 card get to compete in the $1 million championships on New Year’s Eve in New York City.

Headliners Loughnane and Khaybulaev aim for their first PFL championship wins. Loughnane debuted in Season 2 with a pair of wins in one-off fights, while Khaybulaev fell short in the Season 2 quarterfinals after suffering a knockout loss against Daniel Pineda, who was later suspended for an anti-doping violation. Loughnane is the No. 1 seed in the featherweight tourney, while Khaybulaev is No. 4.

The other featherweight bracket sees No. 3 seed Bubba Jenkins take on No. 4 Chris Wade in the night’s co-headliner. In other main card action, Season 2 light heavyweight champ and No. 4 seed Emiliano Sordi takes on UFC vet Antonio Carlos Junior, while No. 2 seed and UFC import Cezar Ferreira faces No. 3 Marthin Hamlet Nielsen.
