It’s all systems go for the 10-fight Professional Fighters League European showcase on Friday.
While PFL Europe 3: 2025 Playoffs features both the semifinals for bantamweights and lightweights, it will be headlined by a short-notice lightweight switcheroo now featuring Amin Ayoub and Keweny Lopes. The event was previously expected to be capped off with Abdoul Abdouraguimov vs. Kevin Jousset, and when the former withdrew for contract issues, Ayoub was tapped to face Donovan Desmae. Due to Desmae’s withdrawal, the French fighter now squares off with Lopes. All fighters on the billing successfully made weight, including lightweight alternate Niko Kobakhidze (156).
Nantes’ own Ayoub has won seven in a row dating back to a draw with Damien Lapilus that was overturned by the French MMA Federation. However, that result and many others on Lapilus’ record are not recognized by Sherdog Fight Finder due to the federation’s overreach in its determination that five fights should be overturned after a single failed drug test. On his current run, the Frenchman has recorded four of his seven triumphs by knockout within two rounds. He hit the scales at 155 pounds on the button.
“Leao” Lopes also made weight successfully, hitting the 155-pound mark exactly to make the main attraction official. While Ayoub has amassed a win streak, Lopes has the luxury of winning his last fight. Against Heliton dos Santos in May, Lopes smashes his foe with a superman punch in under 30 seconds. The finish rate for the man from Pirapora, Minas Gerais, Brazil, sits far higher than his foe’s, clocking in at 83%. Both athletes will be making their company debuts in the marquee position.
PFL Europe 3 will air live on Dazn and the PFL App at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT on Friday.
