PFL locks down 11-bout lineup for Washington, D.C., card on July 25

Jaws will get jacked in the nation’s capital inside of the Professional Fighters League cage at the end of this month.

Earlier in May, the organization announced the headlining attraction of PFL DC, which will go down on July 25 at the Carefirst Arena in Washington, D.C. Topping off the fight card is a battle for the newly vacated 170-pound throne of the retired Ramazan Kuramagomedov, between Thad Jean (11-0) and Shamil Musaev (18-1-1). The promotion released the entirety of the 11-fight structure and order on Thursday.

A middleweight title fight headlines PFL Austin: Tune on Saturday, July 18 at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Since appearing on the first week of 2023’s season of PFL’s Challenger Series, Florida’s Jean has never looked back. A few months after beating Eric Alequin to claim a PFL contract, he made a splash in a showcase bout in the PFL 7 2023 Playoffs by running through Ali Omar in under two minutes. As he worked his way through his bracket, Jean won out the final season at his weight class by dispatching Mukhamed Berkhamov and defeating Jason Jackson and Logan Storley on the scorecards.

While Jean punched his ticket to gold by winning the 2025 tournament, Dagestan native Musaev did the same the year before. In his bracket, Musaev had to knock out Storley and Murad Ramazanov, then rematch Ramazanov in the playoffs and finally knocked out Magomed Umalatov in the $1 million bout. By handing Umalatov his first professional defeat, Musaev earned a crack at another undefeated athlete in Kurmagomedov. Musaev lost that encounter, and has not competed since.
