Ramiz Brahimaj Embraces Underdog Status After Upset Win at UFC 320

Ramiz Brahimaj has made a habit of defying the odds.

Brahimaj earned his third straight upset win at UFC 320. The Valle Flow Striking representative handed Austin Vanderford the first submission loss of his career via a guillotine choke in the second round. Brahimaj gifted Joe Rogan his signature headgear in his post-fight interview while quoting Nick Diaz’s famous one-liner about Rogan’s podcast. When asked about his underdog status, Brahimaj said he’s gonna keep “howling.”

“Joe Rogan podcast by night, training by day,” Brahimaj said. “That’s all I was doing this camp… I was the underdog so I had to do doggystyle… Look, my jiu-jitsu, my striking, I’m getting better every single day and I know I can be the best in the world… This underdog is gonna keep howling baby.”

Brahimaj Continues to Build Momentum

Saturday marked Brahimaj’s third consecutive upset win via stoppage. While Brahimaj had opened at almost even odds against Mickey Gall, he closed as an underdog going into their fight last year. Brahimaj went on to knock out Gall in the first round. Brahimaj was a massive +340 underdog going into his clash against Billy Goff, whom he choked out this past May.

Meanwhile, Vanderford stopped Nikolay Veretennikov in his UFC debut this past February before losing to Brahimaj.
