Arman Tsarukyan Recalls Awkward Fan Interaction Involving Kayla Harrison

Arman Tsarukyan recently detailed his awkward interaction with a fan regarding Kayla Harrison.

Tsarukyan and Harrison are teammates at American Top Team in Florida. They were both attending a press conference last year when a fan asked Tsarukyan an inappropriate question in Russian. The fan asked how many sticks Tsarukyan would throw at Harrison, which seemingly means whether he would have sex with her. Tsarukyan said he would throw a couple. While Harrison later admitted that the interaction was disrespectful, they have since settled their differences.

Tsarukyan recently revealed that he even asked the fan to apologize to Harrison. While Tsarukyan admits that the whole episode slightly marred his reputation, he explained his reasoning behind his answer. Tsarukyan claims he only said it as a compliment to Harrison, who perhaps would be offended if he had answered in the negative.

Tsarukyan Recalls Being in Awkward Situation

“Later, when we were at the event, I told him that this girl is here, go apologize to her,” Tsarukyan told Aslanbek Badaev. “Becasue it’s not nice. He starts talking some nonsense there, why do I need to apologize. I only created hype for her. I realized that there is no point for me to talk to this guy. I’m just a different person. If I’ll do something, if I’ll do a mistake, I’ll come up to a person and apologize.

“Of course I felt sorry, it slightly tarnished my reputation. Looking back at it, there are some advantages to it, too. When he asked me that question, I didn’t know what to answer. Like should I say yes or no? If I had said none, she could have gotten upset. Maybe then she will say what kind of a man I am. I thought I will say at least a couple, like a compliment.”

Harrison made her UFC debut last year and won the bantamweight title this past June with a submission win over Julianna Pena. Meanwhile, Tsarukyan is scheduled to headline UFC Qatar against Dan Hooker in November, where a victory could make a lightweight title shot nearly undeniable for the Russian.
