Per an initial report on Thursday from MMA Mania, Tybura (27-10) and Valter Walker (15-1) will trade blows inside the Octagon on March 28. The two big men will go at it on the UFC Seattle card, also known as UFC Fight Night 271, at the Climate Pledge Arena in Washington state’s largest city. This news has since been confirmed by both athletes on their respective Instagram pages.
While Tybura first revealed the bout information, Walker chided him for releasing it while referencing Brazilian folklore.
“Why, Marcin Tybura, did you spill our secret too soon,” Walker wrote, with translation via Google Translate. “When you tap out three times, I won’t let go, you’ll turn into a curupira!”

Poland’s Tybura comes into this pairing having lost his last time out, a knockout at the hands of Ante Delija in September 2025. His campaign that year went so-so, as he also procured a decision victory over then-unbeaten Mick Parkin to keep a number next to his name. Should the 40-year-old get his hand raised in March, it will serve as his 15th win inside the Octagon, sliding him into a tie with Junior dos Santos for the fourth-most in UFC heavyweight history.
“The Foot Hunter” has rightfully earned his nickname by snatching up four consecutive heel hook submissions—one of the inverted variety—in his last four triumphs. All four have taken place in the first round, where he is one shy of all-time leader Rousimar Palhares. His four heel hooks account for all but one of his career submissions, with the other a rear-naked choke in his sophomore outing in 2020. If he taps out Tybura, he would become the second man to ever do so—Serghei Spivac did so first in 2024, landing an armbar on “Tybur.”
