Bantamweight contenders Cody Stamann and Rob Font will settle their differences on June 22 at UFC Fight Night 154 on June 22 in Greenville, South Carolina, according to Farah Hannoun. Stamann and Font have gone back-and-forth on social media, calling each other out. But it was the 31-year-old in Font who initially called for this scrap, and will get what he asked for.
Stamann is coming off a decision win over Alejandro Perez at UFC 235 to get back into the win column after losing to Aljamain Sterling by submission at UFC 228. “Spartan” holds notable wins over the likes of Bryan Caraway and Tom Duquesnoy. The 29-year-old is currently 17-2 and on the bubble in the Sherdog bantamweight rankings.
Font, meanwhile, also got back into the win column in his last fight out with a decision win over Sergio Pettis at UFC on Fox 31 in December. Before that he lost to Raphael Assuncao by decision and knocked out Thomas Almeida after losing to Pedro Munhoz by submission. Font is currently 15-4 and is also on the bubble list according to Sherdog rankings.
UFC Fight Night 154 will be headlined by Renato Carneiro taking on Chan Sung Jung.
