Via a report from the Wall Street Journal on Friday, the Ultimate Fighting Championship is going ahead with next year’s event at the White House. In August, UFC chief Dana White said that the White House event was going to happen and that they “got it done today,” but did not reveal more information.

Per the Journal, the Octagon will be erected on the south lawn of the White House. The date is still in the air, as outlets have reported both June and July 2026, even with White adamant it will be held on July 4. The outdoor event will feature fireworks and light shows during the proceedings, while the athletes may be permitted to prepare for their bouts inside of the White House itself. Additionally, the organization plans to erect large video screens to show the event to attendees and those viewing in the distance.
National Mall to Hold Numerous Pre-Event Festivities
In addition to the show reportedly taking place in the residence of the president of the United States, a number of pre-UFC White House happenings will go down in the city that week. While the White House will not be used to stage the weigh-ins, fan events or media days, various locations in the National Mall are being scouted as possibilities. The day before the fights, the weigh-ins may go down on the western edge of the Reflecting Pool at the Lincoln Memorial.
A large number of athletes have raised their figurative hands to participate in this show next year, and there are no fights official for the spectacle that may be held in nine or ten months. Among those pitching for headliner spots include Jon Jones and Conor McGregor, and the UFC as well as the Office of the President are elated at the possibilities.
Providing a brief quote to the Journal, President Trump’s spokesman Steven Cheung hyped up this combat extravaganza.
“This will be one of the greatest and most historic events in history, and President Trump hosting it at the White House is a testament to his vision to celebrate America’s monumental 250th anniversary.”
