Sean O’Malley Claims Paddy Pimblett Was Vaping During UFC 324 Weigh Cut

Paddy Pimblett has seemingly aced the science of cutting weight.

Pimblett (23-4) fought Justin Gaethje (27-5) for the interim lightweight title at UFC 324 last Saturday in Las Vegas. Sean O’Malley fought Yadong Song in a marquee bantamweight matchup on the same card.

O’Malley recently revealed that he saw Pimblett vaping before the weigh-ins, while everyone was struggling as expected.

‘Blowing Clouds’

“I could not believe – I was on the weight, 136 pounds, in the back, dying like everyone else, and Paddy was sitting there ripping his vape, blowing clouds,” O’Malley said on his YouTube channel.

While Pimblett is known for ballooning up to as much as 200 pounds in between fights, “The Baddy” has never missed the lightweight limit. Pimblett weighed 167.2 pounds during an official weight check just 16 hours before the official UFC 324 weigh-ins. Pimblett cut more than 15 pounds and actually weighed in at 154 pounds, one pound less than the official limit.

If the weight cut had any adverse effects, it certainly didn’t show during Pimblett’s performance against Gaethje. While Pimblett was handed a beating en route to a unanimous decision loss, the Liverpudlian’s gas tank never seemed lacking over 25 minutes. Pimblett was unbeaten in seven UFC outings before losing to Gaethje.
