Sean Strickland Favors ‘Rehabilitation Over Prison’ for Raja Jackson

Sean Strickland believes Quinton Jackson’s son shouldn’t be jailed.

Raja Jackson was recently involved in an indie wrestling event where things went terribly south. While Jackson’s part in the pro wrestling affair was originally planned, he slammed Stuart Smith before landing a series of unanswered shots. Other wrestlers had to pull off Jackson, who was seen fuming in rage as he left the venue. Despite suffering broken facial bones and teeth, Smith is reportedly stable now but in critical care.

The younger Jackson has faced severe backlash since the incident. However, Strickland believes Jackson should be sent to rehabilitation instead of prison. Strickland cited his own example, when he barely avoided imprisonment at the age of 19. Known for being a controversial personality, Strickland is sure that jail time with convicts would have only made him more vulnerable to crime. The former UFC middleweight believes he would have killed someone after coming out of prison.

“Jackson’s kid shouldn’t go to jail. Prison should always be a last resort,” Strickland wrote on X. “I was arrested at 19 for two felony a GBIs. I would [have] spent five to sive years in prison if the DA had its way. After six years in a cell coming out with nothing, being indoctrinated with gangs and violence. I guarantee I would [have] killed someone. There was one guy telling me about how he picked up a murder charge and I remembered being impressed by him. That would [have] been my future. Instead I plead and took 100 days jail or work release. A ton of anger management and a decent amount of victim restitution. After a miserable two years of court. Luckily a lawyer took my case for free because I didnt have a dollar to my name.

“Bottom line is it’s not about the person in prison it’s about who they become when they’re out of prison, and I believe if I wasn’t offered that deal I would be dead today and more than likely would [have] resulted in someone else’s death as well. My two cents…. Rehabilitation over prison always.”

Wrestlers Claim They Were Urged Not to Cooperate with Police

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is reportedly investigating the incident involving Jackson. However, wrestlers at Knokx Pro, where the incident took place, accused the promotion of urging them not to cooperate with the police

Meanwhile, Strickland was involved in a brawl at a Tuff-N-Uff event while cornering his teammate this past June. Strickland jumped the cage and attacked his teammate’s opponent, who was mocking him after winning the fight. Strickland was handed a $5,000 fine and a six-month suspension, which could be reduced to four-and-a half-months, as the UFC middleweight agreed to undergo an anger management course. Strickland also joked about Jackson joining him in anger management.
