‘Simple dude’ Henry Corrales likes the match-up with Juan Archuleta at Bellator 238

‘Simple dude’ Henry Corrales likes the match-up with Juan Archuleta at Bellator 238

While he suffered his first loss in three years in 2019, featherweight Henry Corrales can see the good in last year.

Because of the loss, Corrales was forced to look at his game a bit and make changes he hopes will help him on the comeback trail.

“Last year didn’t end too well, I ended it with a loss, but there was a lot to build off there,” Corrales told MMAWeekly.com. “I’m looking forward to starting off (right) this year with this fight here.”

Looking back on his fights, Corrales can be both critical of how he performed, but he can also see the positive things he did, and build off of both.

“The first fight (of 2019) against Aaron Pico I did well. It’s something I’m pretty proud of,” said Corrales. “The second fight (against Darrion Caldwell) wasn’t one of my best performances. There’s work to do; that’s how I feel about it.

“Absolutely, I always see (the good and the bad). I always do my best to grow, not just in fighting, but in all aspects of life.”

On Saturday in Inglewood, Calif., Corrales (17-4) will look to get back on track when he faces Juan Archuleta (23-2) in a main card 145-pound bout at Bellator 238.
