Tallison Teixeira has plenty of room for growth on the heels of his first setback in mixed martial arts.
The 25-year-old Brazilian suffered a technical knockout loss to Derrick Lewis just 35 seconds into the opening round of their headlining heavyweight clash at UFC Nashville on Saturday night. While the stoppage was somewhat controversial, there’s no denying that Lewis had Teixeira reeling before the bout was waved off.

The Dana White’s Contender Series alum reacted to the defeat in a brief statement on social media.
Brazilian Prospect Vows to Come Back Stronger
“Hello everyone. It’s not the result I wanted, but I’ll come back stronger,” he wrote on X. “I apologize for disappointing you. Xicao will be back.”
The 6-foot-8 Brazilian began his professional tenure with eight consecutive first-round finishes. This included a pair of victories under the Legacy Fighting Alliance banner, a first-round KO of Arthur Lopes on the Contender Series and a quick stoppage of Justin Tafa in his Octagon debut at UFC 312 on Feb. 8.
Olá, pessoal. Não é o resultado que eu queria, mas voltarei mais forte. Peço desculpas por decepcioná-los. O Xicão voltará.
