Polish mixed martial arts promotion Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki will return to Lodz, Poland, for the first time in nearly five years on March 3.
KSW announced that its first event of 2018 will take place at Atlas Arena and will feature current light heavyweight champion Tomasz Narkun, lightweight titlist Mateusz Gamrot and flyweight queen Ariane Lipski. Ex-heavyweight champ Karol Bedorf and longtime KSW veteran Lukasz Jurkowski are also scheduled to compete at the event. Opponents for the aforementioned fighters were not revealed.
KSW last traveled to Lodz on Sept. 28, 2013, when famed strongman Mariusz Pudzianowski avenged an earlier loss to UFC veteran Sean McCorkle with a unanimous decision triumph in the evening’s main event. Future UFC strawweight title challenger Karolina Kowalkiewicz also appeared on the card, taking a three-round verdict over Simona Soukupova.
“We return to the second largest arena in Poland for the first time in five years. That night we had an historic lineup of fighters and now we return with five of the best KSW champions and legends, with even more to be added,” KSW co-owner Maciej Kawulski said in a release. “The first event of 2018 will be massive and will set the tone for the biggest year in KSW history.”
